Ocean View Hotel was built as a private residence during the summer of
1870 and converted into a private hotel in 1919.
Purchased and refurbished by Florence Jamieson in 1933 with hot and cold water provided in all rooms and gas fires.

Two additional wings were added including main lounge, restaurant, two floors of bedrooms, games room and garage, total 37 - no private bathrooms.
